For someone who wants to teach, what kind of "Internship" is appropriate in grad school?
I'm applying to MA in Communication Studies programs and one of the programs I'm applying to places a *big* emphasis on Internships, mainly because of the location of the school and its proximity to tv-film-media companies. However, my goal is to earn a PhD then teach. What kind of internship could I take advantage of? I realize that getting a TA position would help, but this particular program does not have these positions available for MA students (they are only for the PhD students).
The reason I'm asking this and thinking about it is because I'm pretty sure they are going to be looking for this in my SOP, as one of the things they want us to discuss in it is what kind of "resources" or "opportunities" we will want to take advantage of when accepted. And again, they place a big emphasis on internships.
