Choosing a Program

You all have really helped me improve my statement of purpose, so I thought I'd ask you for some advice!
As I prepare to send off my applications to three schools, there is one school who's program I am not so sure about.
I want to teach African American literature, Women Studies, and writing and rhetoric (I know its a lot).
DePaul University (the school in which I'm referring) has an English program, but I don't want to apply to it because they only offer American and British literature. I recently found they have a Writing and Rhetoric Discourse program and an Interdisciplinary Studies program. The latter really appeals to me because (I believe) it allows me to take courses from a wide range of areas...basically an individualized program where I take courses from various disciplines.

Does anyone have any experience in either the Interdisciplinary Studies Program and/or the Writing and Rhetoric Discourse Program? What would you suggest?
