Seems like a no brainer and yet I hesitate.
School A
Is a top MA program in the field. Has a big name recognition factor and excellent facilities. It also offered no funding, though there is a chance at a RA position next year.
School B
Also a MA program. Is a state school with less ranking in the field (though not a bad ranking) and little name recognition. However, it offered a TA position with full tuition waver and small stipend.
The ultimate goal is to get a PhD and teach. Do you think going with a lesser known school (School B) will hurt my chances at getting into a decent PhD program? Is the money worth it?
