FAFSA dependent/independent
Is dependent status for tax purposes the same as FAFSA dependent status? Do they need to be the same?
I'm applying to graduate school, which by FAFSA's definition allows me to be "independent" but I still fit within the qualifications for my parents to claim me as a dependent for tax purposes.
Help?

I'm jealous of people finding out about acceptances already! I'm pretty sure I won't know anything until next month :-(
