a chance in hell?

Hey guys, I am looking for some honesty here I guess, before I go and spend a bunch of money on applications.

I want to get my PhD in Health Psychology. I don't want to do the Clinical route though, as I've always really loved research.

My cumulative GPA is around a 3.35 unfortunately. I had a different major my first two years and obviously had my mind on other things >____> My Psych GPA is 3.91 and my last two years GPA is 3.85 (I don't know if that will actually help but it's worth mentioning).

My GRE score is alright, 1300 (660 Q, 640 V) though on my written portion I only got a 4.5 :\

As for other experience: I've presented at one thesis conference, am volunteering in a health psych lab as an RA and am also employed full time as an RA for a clinic that works with prodromal Schizophrenics. The clinic is quite high profile and I am actually going to be trained to use some of the scales (I don't know if this is worth mentioning since I'm not interested in clinical).

I am writing my subject tests next week and hopefully those will go okay too.

I don't know...am I just throwing away hundreds of dollars at schools without a shot in hell? Are my numbers just too low?

Thanks guys.
