The personal statement... Okay, has anyone noticed that for some schools there's the requisite "statement of purpose" outlining what you want to study, your experience, and all pertinent academic information. Then there's a second, "personal" statement that wants to know about how your "background and life experiences, including cultural, geographical, financial, educational or other opportunities or challenges, motivated your decision to pursue a graduate degree?"
I'm not really sure what they're trying to get at. They mention "discussing the journey that has lead to your decision to see a graduate degree," but am I supposed to go back to middle/high school or just talk about college? It's a little strange because there's a separate "describe your academic interests" and then there's this... which isn't supposed to be a repetition of that...
