I have been under the impression that grad schools don't expect fall semester grades. This especially makes sense for December, even January deadlines, as most people including myself don't get official grades until break and student services pretty much shuts down. I requested transcripts in October because I'd heard my school was slow with them and I didn't want to chance it.
Some of my applications require course histories, so I've been excluding fall courses/grades (unless they ask what courses I expect to complete, in which case I include them). I figure I shouldn't put grades on the application when I can't back them up with a transcript.
Truth be told, I wasn't too happy with my fall grades. I'm assuming it is reasonable to send transcripts without fall grades for the earlier deadlines (is this true?) but for February or March deadlines, what do you think? I haven't seen anything about it on their websites and I know you all have experience with it. And you'll answer faster than a grad secretary, considering it's 10pm.
P.S. How do you guys deal with the "Don't worry, you'll get in somewhere!" comments from friends and family? I kind of get annoyed because I don't want to assume anything. I don't have a plan B, but I know I should.
