Remember drivers: stop for pedestrians!
Here’s what the CA Drivers’ Handbook says:
Respect the right-of-way of pedestrians. Always stop for any pedestrian crossing at corners or other crosswalks, even if the crosswalk is in the middle of the block and at corners with or without traffic lights, whether or not the crosswalks are marked by painted lines.

TV-free weekend
Among the things I missed on TV...news of Angel Island afire! Presently 75% contained, but what an ugly fire. I was somewhat worried about this while the Blue Angels were flying overhead.
Just the sort of dessication that is afflicting much of my state right now. :-/

A Proposition for a high speed rail will be on the ballot. I'm 100% for the proposition, even though numerous details need to be worked out.
