So, we missed the planned-for easy trail past the lakes, to the coast, etc. past Bolinas, and instead hit the harder trails of Ridge, Olema, and Stuart in
Point Reyes.
Left 11.45am, got back to the car in darkness at 8.00pm. Was very beautiful, but our feet were dying! Crawled back to the car on stumps.
Let Gabe take all the pictures, so uploads will be delayed.
Animals seen en route: small garter snake, many birds-of-prey, a small rabbit, and a large deer.
Picnic Note: Passing horseriders inevitably left droppings, which effectively magnetized all the flies to them, and well away from the picnic food. This was a great biological solution.
EDIT:
Great view of Sutro Tower atop Twin Peaks in the distance above the fog layer.
Regarding my feet, a correction - they are ABLATED STUMPS with Akira-like angry growths that should, hopefully, abate in time.
