I'm making this post for my friends at home to see Austin and what we're looking at related to where they'll be staying, and where we'll be going out. So if any of you are interested in maps of Austin, you can look too!
So this is the full map Downtown Austin. Basically my apartment is a little bit south of that red star on the bottom right (right below the river on 35). The main street where the bars are is Red River, 6th Street, and then 4th and 5th Street to the left of Congress St (around # 11 and 12 on the map)
This is 6th street where most of the cheesy, dance party bars are. They close the street off on the weekends, we wouldn't be able to drive anywhere on 6th street (if we get a limo), but there are little bike Taxi's if you are wearing heels and don't want to walk, you can get them to drive you where you want to go.
This is the warehouse district... it's were the older crowd hangs out (us now!) (martini bars, irish pubs and the gay bars).
If you notice the map of 6th street ends at Congress Ave. and the 4th/5th street/warehouse district kinda starts right past Congress.

Now for other stuff besides downtown and the bars!
This is Zilker Park Pool, it's a huge fresh water spring pool that has a diving bored, the water is pretty cold and I don't know if it'll be hot enough to swim, but it's soooo beautiful!
Then this is Hamilton Pool. You have to hike like 1/4 of a mile to the "pool", there is also a hiking trail to the left that brings you to a river. It's probably about 30 min from my apartment in Austin. Here are some pictures that Bobby took when he was in here Nov. You can swim in the water and there is a little water fall that comes from way up high in the cave.
Michelle Favorite place! I found this random picture... it's out in the country, has a big old BBQ pit in side. Picnic tables inside... it's a dry town so you bring a cooler w/ your own alcohol. Here is a random picture I found.
Then there are hiking trails and oh the bats!
At dusk all the bats fly out from under the Congress St. Bridge. That enough for now.
