(no subject)
well, there we go. i am now officially an employee of columbus public schools. my first day was quite eventful, and i'm a little sore as a result, but i had fun. we had to drag all kinds of desks, chairs, cupboards, shelves, auto parts, etc. from the east wing of the school & put it all on a giant tarp in our south gym. the reason: renovations of the east wing will begin shortly & everything's gotta be out of there. construction workers were supposed to come today & rip out all the seats in the auditorium so they can be refurbished...but they never showed up. oh well. i'm just glad i'll have some money eventually (we get paid once a month).
i think getting the job was a really good idea. i knew i was going to miss school so terribly...and there was no way i could avoid thinking about it when i can see the building from the front porch of my house...so it's just better that i go there every day as usual. um, other than that, nothing real exciting has happened. lots of storms and tornadoes though. a school south of lincoln (state capitol), called firth norris high school got almost completely destroyed. the ceiling was ripped from the auditorium and everything. we had the tornado sirens go off a couple times here in columbus. um, let's see...columbus high graduation was on the 16th and, since i was finally popular enough this year to make friends with some of the seniors, i was invited to a bunch of graduation parties. so that was fun. i cleaned my room yesterday, with todd's help. it looks like a whole different place. i'm so happy. lol. yay for plastic storage & organization thingies from wal-mart.
