If this post (hell, if the first link) doesn't convince you about the failures of abstinence-only education, ...wow, please get yourself sterilized now.

this is crazzzzzy!
yes it's almost 90% in the 40s, but it's still way above half even at 20-30.

putting on condoms is simple, honestly i want more education on other forms of birth control. people are _surprised_ when i mention pill alternatives like the ring that work better for some people (like me, i am never consistent with pills). women are surprised to hear they can skip periods all they want, that there are alternatives to HBC like copper IUDs that are just as effective...

I mean, I'm guessing that by the time you teach something like this in middle school, a significant number of teens have already had sex in one way or another. They need to teach them how to have safer oral/anal sex as well, but they barely want to mention condoms. if anything, this is not good. i know many people who think that oral is not "sex" so it's okay to do whatever you want...nope.

many adults are not blind, and are trying to do something about it. it's a portion of idiots who don't want to hear about their 14 year old children having sex cause IT JUST DOESNT HAPPEN. yeah right. :)
