Using the BSNL DataOne ADSL router

Mar 16, 2005 17:50

Apparently, some of the people who got a BSNL DataOne ADSL subscription have been struggling with PPPoE on Linux. I use the built-in PPPoE client of the Huawei SmartAX MT800 ADSL router (the router that BSNL gives out in Bangalore) and wrote a short document explaining how to use the router. You would have to read only the initial parts of the document to get things working in a few minutes. The rest of the sections talk about other features and operating system specifics.

Suggestions, comments, corrections and additions (in particular, information about routers given out in other cities, and specifics of other OSes) are welcome.

In other news, Hitesh, the guy "we" met in Tawang (and became good friends), our host in Imphal, is in town. I'll be going to meet him tonight.
