Before you know it you realize that you're suddenly seated inside a moving train. Outside the windows you can see a grassy plain as far as the eye can see, the sun just setting in the distance. There's no other passengers, and seemingly no conductor. The only other creature on board is a feeling, an unknown presence that you can sense but not see. The train suddenly enters a thick fog, nothing can be seen even a few inches from the window except for the very faint glow of fading sunlight. When the train stops, the fog clears. The presence urges you to get up and go out. The second you're in the train station the door closes and the train leaves again. Unfortunately it's a one way trip. Though the presence seemed kind enough to leave you with a parting gift. Laying at your feet is a pocket watch shaped device that fits nicely into your palm. Only it's not a normal pocket watch, it seems to be a communicator of sorts. Small buttons are on the side for talking and the button at the top opens it for video feed. At least you know you aren't alone.

The Watcher and The Interloper are always there. They rarely interfere with the inhabitants, merely make sure they never leave. If one is too powerful and does not know how to behave themselves, they will step in and set things straight. They are the reason why no one can cross over the Wall. But they are kind enough to allow anyone who wishes to climb the watch towers along the Wall and see the view from the top. From one side the entire city can be seen and on the other, endless plains of grass as far as the eye can see. The poor souls who have been pulled into this god forsaken city must exist as best they can.
