Hi LJ land!
I have largely neglected this medium in favor of the crackbook. It is dusty in here, but I thought I would stop by.
As I ate a ridiculously veggie-licious salad, I started thinking about matters of interaction between men and women. I have observed, recently, two women who are very VERY good with men/women. They grab their attention, hold it, and are highly effective social creatures.
Sure, these women are attractive, but not any more so than a run of the mill attractive person. So, I thought, what makes these women particularly GOOD at attracting people?
I have come to the conclusion based on observation that they are both very adept at being SWEET. Sweet you say? Yes. Not in the sticky I love kittens way (though that plays into it to some extent), but sweet in the way that they are able to make the people they are talking to flattered, and for lack of a better term, warm and fuzzy.
They proactively try to be cute and sassy but not so sassy that they become threatening or a rat bastard (that tends to be my natural approach to most interaction). They use terms like sweetie and darlin'(g) and are extremely personable.
The cynic in me largely knows that this is largely a ploy for attention. In lots of cases, this kind of behaviour is rather off putting to me. However, most people seem to LOVE this kind of personality. Sassy and bubbly.
I guess it is like peanut butter and chocolate. Most of the world likes it and I sit here in my dusty corner thinking that peanut butter has NO business touching chocolate :)
