Aw the ending was adorable. Nice to see some of the blanks from Founders' Day filled in as well. I take it Lee and Dee are over pretty much, am hoping Kara and Sam follow expediently! ;)

Yep! Lee and Dee are on the outs. As much as I seriously disliked her in the series, I felt obligated to give her and their relationship a good farewell here for the sake of Lee. He was always too much of a good guy with her to just end it quickly and severely, even in this AU.

As for Kara and Sam, things will go a little differently.

Ah sorry to hear that. Dee hate really bums me out. I think she gets judged far more harshly than Sam, even though they were both more or less the same situation.

Oh. :(

So Kara is avoiding Sam and refuses to share quarters with him. Interesting...

Love the Chief and how he is protective of the deck and his birds!

I like that Dee keeps her words here and lets Lee go.

And the banter between Kara and Lee at the end is great!

Kara's a fickle one and definitely throwing herself into work to avoid dealing with some things.

I didn't just want to end the chapter on the Lee/Dee note, so I wanted to bring in some Starbuck Apollo interaction. Since a little time has passed between now and their talk, I felt it important to show just how they were getting along.

Thank you for your comments here and on FF! I'm glad you enjoyed it even though it wasn't much of a plot filled chapter. I felt the need to fill in some holes as well as show what was going on with other people besides Kara, without just brushing everyone under the rug with a line or two.

Yep! That's what I loved about it. How you explained Dee's thinking. And where Sam is at...and even how Kara was so messed up the day she married Sam!

It was so well done and totally believable

I like your repurposing of Sam and his moment with the raider, especially as it dovetails in him questioning where or not he could be a cylon. (Something I wish there had been more of post-New Caprica.)

Dee's flashback to 'the morning after' was fabulous. Such dignity and acceptance for her. I really felt for her wanting to still be there for Lee yet knowing it was over.

Plus, happy pilots flying is always good! :)

Dee always felt incredibly one dimensional to me on the show and a little awkward. First she was quiet and shy and super into Billy and then she did a total flip and was pursuing Lee with a kind of boldness I never would've expected from her. This was my attempt at trying to correct at least a little bit of that, while also having someone on the outside know about the unique relationship existing between Kara and Lee.

Loving the back and forth storytelling form the past and present - great job! I'm completely drawn to your Dreilide who seems to have the gentleness I often associate with Helo. Loving his movement into a relationship with Socrata. The sections with the flashbacks about New Caprica and especially with Leoben were particularly chilling. It's amazing what you've done so well by switching things over at this point. The damage inflicted on Kara is now Lee's (and in some ways vice versa.) My only note - and this is not a general thing to your writing, but to canon - is that for me, I never read Lee's actions IN CANON as particularly unconditional. He (IMO) always wanted something from Kara... and when she couldn't provide it, there was friction. I'm probably in the minority on this, but I feel he was (in canon) every bit as responsible for things not working. But I digress ( ... )

Dreilide sort of evens Socrata out, which she desperately needs, just like Kara does as well (although Apollo generally sucks at fulfilling that role for her in canon ( ... )
