Dancing with dragons

SEVEN HELLS, LJ. I need to express my thoughts about ADwD, can you cooperate?

SPOILERS FOR THE WHOLE BOOK.

Let's hope it's not half a decade before the winds of winter blow.

I refuse to believe Jon and Stannis are dead. They must live and continue the Ned/Robert bromance. PRAYER CIRCLE. And what is this about Jon being Azor Ahai reborn? I was not even paying attention to that bleeding star stuff, was that for real? Are we going to have five years of debate surrounding this? Oh Red Rahloo.

I kinda like the idea of Stannis ending up as the 1000th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.

"Not all men are meant to dance with dragons." Quentyn, we hardly knew you! I'm so sorry you had to have your fantasy hero trope subverted that way. Life is not a song... perhaps you and Sansa can meet in some AU and discuss this. I wonder if Dorne will rally to Baby Aegon now? Even though Baby Aegon (I can't stop calling him that) might be a mummer's dragon. False dragons make me think of the Wheel of Time... when I ventured on to the Westeros forum after finishing the book, the first thread I saw was titled "Is Martin Going Jordan?" and I LOLed.

Barristan the Bold! Kicking ass and taking names (and helping to undo the Meereenese Knot, I think? although the situation has not been resolved at all). Ended up one of my favourite POVs, along with Theon, who stole great stretches of the show for me. He needs to be the one to kill Ramsay, right after looking him in the eye and saying, "My name is Theon Greyjoy, (bitch!)" And then he and Asha can go home, declare the kingsmoot invalid, and reclaim the Seastone Chair together. Yep.

Also, I was so thrilled to have Arya chapters that I did not realize the implications of that Faceless Men meeting. It looks like they can't kill people they know? So if Arya goes after the people on her hit list she'll be breaking the rules, and the idea of her as a rogue Faceless (Wo)man and the possible consequences is SO exciting to me.

Possibly more insightful thoughts later, the gods of LJ willing.
