Jono could go to the meet and greet, where he'd feel horribly uncomfortable surrounded by strangers in the pollen compounded with that general sense of unease that he got at those functions anyway. Or he could finally actually acquaint himself with his new office, right next door to the old one, and if parents and other assorted visitors cared so damn much about meeting him, they could come to the school and do it here.

You know what, Jono was going to just listen to Pearl Jam and work on figuring out how to spin a class that was essentially 'we go watch plays and things' into something that sounded semi-educational. Yes. That was a good plan.
