Well, shit. The weather and the shops were being willfully uncooperative.

I went to the pool today, and had my cat climb up on my chest and park herself in a furry little ball of cute demanding cuddles. She does that less these days (she walks around on my chest and stomach if I'm laying down or semi-reclined, but doesn't like to stop and lay down very often).

That's a good color, but not very pink, so I see why you'd be annoyed. (My two adventures with hair dye: 1) as a teenager I got a temporary rinse that was supposed to give me red hair, but I followed my dark-haired mother's advice of buying things a shade or two lighter, and ended up with basically my normal color, and 2) I once got what I thought was a temporary rinse for a middle-school cat costume, and ended up with months of utterly black hair and incredibly obvious roots, as well as complicated hair salon visits to try to fix it.)

I know if I use Directions or something I'll end up with a catastrophically LURID shade which is not what I'm after this time, either. Frustratingly I saw a guy on Sunday with EXACTLY THE COLOUR I'D BEEN GOING FOR working in a shop, too. (Teen me was MORTALLY BETRAYED upon discovering that black/blue-black, the Proper Goth Blacks, do not actually suit me at all).
