Things I need, in descending order of actual need:
1. New glasses
2. Wellies that aren't split
Things I have purchased:
1. A parachute
I am about ready to give up on the glasses thing and continue to wear them with electrical tape bindings, as the bit that's taped up goes behind my ear and therefore isn't a problem, the hassle of getting Specsavers to actually BOOK an appointment for me to have an eye test is making me want to kill people, and it looks rather like neither they nor glassesdirect actually have the style that I am used to. There's a weird synchronicity in
myselftheliar and I having glasses woes at the same time; I would like to be able to trade on this link a little more and give her some of my financial/domestic stability in exchange for some of her blinding success with interesting people.
Came home from work about 45 minutes earlier than I have been wont to, squandering yet more money, because I felt unaccountably like death warmed up. I still feel remarkably shitty and I'm not sure why: I don't appear to have anything like a proper cold, just more-than-regular sneezing and a bit of a phlegmy throat. I'm not dude to explode with womb shards for a little longer yet, etc. And yet I'm viewing the business of trying to spend 9 to 11 hours slumped in a broken office chair (literally broke, the arms are hanging off and the seat digs into my coccyx) with doomy woe. Possibly just because the weather's turned or the end of British Summer Time is coming soon, something like that. Whiny and oversensitive.
Anyway. I bought a parachute instead of glasses. I have to write a query letter/synopsis for BBB and I would rather slam my big toe repeatedly in a door.
