NaNo
Chapter 18: the Next generationpassword: blackmagic
overall word count: 73,800
the thing about nano is that it makes you think writing 2000 words in one day "isn't really writing anything", a mindset that's been known to persist during the rest of the year.
i tried to take the day off today but the universe conspired against me and then i shouted at holly and basically made an arse of myself and i wouldn't have wanted to be around me either, ho hum. and then i came home and the fucking passport people want new photos (endless hassle) because you can see my teeth in the ones from 2004 because I WAS SMILING BUT SMILING HAS BEEN MADE ILLEGAL IN THE LAST EIGHT YEARS TRUE STORY. frustrating.
anyway today was, with the exception of some time spent accidentally plotting the book that comes after the book that comes after the book (possibly after the book after the book) that i'm writing at the moment. uh. not sequels, just the order i was planning on writing them in. that said, i might go balls out and try to write three books next year, just to see if i can. ANYWAY. it involves a shitty 1950s movie star in an s/m relationship with a former member of the polish resistance turned cameraman who is also having an affair with a married freighter captain and DRAMA AND INTRIGUE AND SUICIDE THREATS. as you can see, this is one for the melissa snowdon line as it will be full of bumming and woe.
i have a lot of plans, writing wise. very few outside of the worlds i create in my head but i am trying not to be bothered by that since every time i do try to do something that isn't writing i cock it up.
tv watched today: masterchef, a program about the ecology of the serengeti which was patronising but actually taught me stuff about how volcanic eruptions change environments, and a distressing and horrifically edited thing about hitler's engineering and use of charisma in order to rise to power and where he originally got his ideas from, which made me pessimistic about democracy.
