Mission: Go out and have fun.
Achievement unlocked: Secret Santa with other gig-goers. Lovely evening listening to stories and music, including discovery of Grace Petrie and a photographer asking me why my parents had named me "Delilah" (if you didn't see Comecidal Lolocaust in 2009, that was basically a chunk of my stand-up material that he just FED ME A LEAD-IN TO, so naturally I took the opportunity to show off a bit), evening culminating in a raucous sing-along to "Fairytale of New York", Britain's Favourite Christmas song. Jolly good time.
Further action: upload two photos taken with phone of Emmy the Great which demonstrate that Maud & I were basically at her feet for the entire gig and that she looked fucking fabulous as always (but more sparkly); enjoy bizarre Secret Santa gift and hope that whoever received mine was similarly confused/touched.

Excellent. ♥ I am curious re: your gift.

A strange family game called "Word Bingo" is what I received, some jewellery what I gave.

I actually didn't give that weird a present, just some of my jewellery, but I got a game of ... "word bingo" out of the bag. :D

Aww that is a good present! Unless an unsuspecting dude got it. WHAT THEN. Word bingo sounds kind of amusing?

I am hoping that if a dude got it, he has a lady who will appreciate it. I... haven't looked very thoroughly at the rules of Word Bingo but it looks like it might be worth inflicting on the in-laws a few times. :)

Just to say I'm DYING to read your Yuletide fic! Will be the best Christmas gift, I'm sure. :D

It contains 100% less infected hand torture and mental breakdowns than the others but is slightly more canon compliant? Swings and roundabouts, I feel. ;)

this seems as good a place as any to mention that i sent you a package yesterday and don't pay attention to the description on the little customs form. i wasn't sure how else to describe it that wasn't a description of what it actually is. this will make more sense when you get it.

mission "go out and have fun" does indeed sound like fun.

CINDERS, I am intrigued by this vagueness and looking forward to finding out what this is!

It was so much fun, it was so NICE to just ... sit on the floor and listen to a short story that was both sweet and wry and some good music and s;vidhsa hvaioc NICE. EVENING. I'd forgotten about them.

(Then I went to the pub tonight with Ruthi. I keep seeing my friends and it makes me feel better what is this insanity)
