While they are preferable to paranoia, delusions of grandeur are also exhausting, alienating, and as hard to keep in check as the paranoia is. Trying to put limits on it is like trying to nail fog to the wall when said fog is ON FIRE AND YELLING AT YOU.

Tl;DR I am crazy and watching Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and it is every bit as terrible as ( Read more... )

I love the poem. :)

(Prince of Thieves is one of my favorites. It's so not good, but I still love it. I have such questionable taste.)

Prince of Thieves is TERRIBLE and yet I compulsively watch it every single time it's on. I think I have a problem too. ;)

Hah, that would be an interesting assault on people's taste. A few years ago I did give people a poem to leave everywhere - the idea was that they could rewrite it to be their own work, but no one did that. :( Having said that, rionaleonhart did put one up on a church noticeboard and the next day there was a reply poem!

A church noticeboard?

And nah, it's a good poem. And I'm curious about how that would turn out, rewriting someone else's work - do you still have it up?

(Also, you got the fathers&soldiers collection back, right? I sent it, but I frankly don't trust Yahoo not to screw me over.)

Yeah, I didn't *tell* her to put it there.

I do, it should be on the old poetry tumblr - derekspoetrydump.tumblr - it's called "Poem For The Person Who Finds This Poem" because I am the KING OF TITLES. The cool thing is that a friend of mine found a copy of said poem at a bus stop, in unfamiliar handwriting, about eighteen months later. So it's still doing the rounds!

I did, thank youuuuuu. I am about to get started on it and by "about" I mean "I have to go fix a circuit tomorrow and I spent most of today drinking gin". <-- priorities.
