update...long overdue
So every time I log into LJ to read my friends updates...my home page screams at me about how long it has been since I have posted. Would you guys believe that it has been 14 weeks since I have posted anything??? So I was reading toronto_m 's update and decided that since my Lovely Nigel updated his blog I should probably update mine as well... So my next step was to look at my last post and see what I wrote, and what has changed since then. So here it goes...
My boyfriends visit was postponed from the end of August to the first week in September. They had a job lined up for him in Washington, and then canceled it last minute. Well, they decided to send him to Washington anyway on an open-ended trip. He could stay for a week, and if they didn't have another job lined up by the end of the week, he could stay a bit longer. So a week went by and no job was lined up....by the end of the second week, he decided to just stay here and look for a job. Well, he's still here...but no job yet. *sigh*
I managed to get my drivers license again and I have been driving since about September 7th. The car that I bought sat in a field for a long time so I had to first off change the oil and flush the system. Since then I have replaced the battery, the master cylinder and the alternator. It still runs a little rough though and when I can afford to (or when my car breaks down) I need to do a transmission flush as well. I'm pretty sure I need to replace my spark plugs too. The car does pretty good but it runs a little rough. Hopefully once I get those things done it should be running pretty well.
So since the boyfriend has been here we have been spending a lot of time together as a family. We have taken a couple of trips down to the beach/forts and posted a lot of pics from those trips (to myspace and personal website).. In October we took the kid out to the local pumpkin patch and got pictures from the petting zoo and the hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins. I had to work the day of Halloween but was able to get off work early enough in the day to get the kid ready and take him out trick-or-treating. This year he was Optimus Prime!!
So November 17th I got called in for Jury duty. It ended up being a crazy day for me. Anyway, when I went to leave the courthouse, some lady HIT MY CAR in the parking lot. *sigh* ended up only being cosmetic to my car though and now you can't even really tell anything happened.
Work has been driving me nuts, and I'm starting to get rather burnt out. My life has been pretty hectic lately...and not all that enjoyable. I'm still in the process of trying to get my medical (and my meds back). My doctors office (the ones who helped me get medical in the first place) doesn't want to help me try to get it back...because they won't be getting paid for the 10 minutes it would take to help me!!!
Anyway, I'm off to go spend some time w/ the family...the kid will be going to bed fairly soon, and I don't have to work tomorrow...so I think I may even have a few drinks tonight.
