From the rooftop, where Daddy has been busy clearing away things that would just get in the way of a greenhouse, some rather interesting musical notes are drifting. Daddy, like any good hippy, doesn't go anywhere without his guitar. But, unlike most hippies, he can actually play AND sing, good! But what he's singing is definitely in the hippy strata.

"I haven't the measure of these people yet
But I've learnt to ignore all the comments I get -
It's " Who was that girl with the flaming red hair?"
As if I should tell them, as if I should care
I'm looking for someone - and I haven't much time...
And if he doesn't answer for all of my calling, then he's no friend of mine -
"

He's not singing to anyone in particular, just kind of singing to the world, to the clouds, to the seeds in their jars, to the people in thier rooms. He's singing because, no matter what else happens, they have right now, so make the most of it.

"Where are you now, Jack-in-the-Green,
Jack-in-the-Green, where've you gone hiding
You should have been here, I needed you here,
I'm needing you now, I shouldn't have to go looking for you "

He plays because he can, and because, underneath it all, playing makes him happy.

And if you want to hear more of the song, or just want to chat with him, tag away.
