He doesn't say anything, but he does move aside into a doorway to let her pass. What he doesn't think of is that being a large, bulky guy wordlessly looming in the hallway is not the most reassuring thing ever.
Krauser, alas, hasn't figured out the blind thing yet. Too far to see her eyes, too dim, and, as mentioned, her body language isn't clueing him in.
"Farm? It's our name for the Magog hive--don't know if you've heard of them. They were a problem. Now they're not. We've got a lot of disoriented, recently freed prisoners roaming around."
"Oh. You're the second person who's mentioned these 'magog' things. What are they? Or were they, I guess?"
Toph runs a hand along the wall; the molding here is cracked, with a chip in it as big as the tip of her index finger. She'll have to remember that. "No, I'm just trying to get familiar with the layout of this place, so I don't bump into a door or something and make myself look like an idiot."
"Six feet of teeth, claws, fur, and bad impulse control. They spat something at me, every so often, but I never let it land to see what it did. They were intelligent, communicated and reasoned, but they primarily used that to capture and contain the people they ate. They're not around now."
He pauses for a moment, figuring out the door reference. Oh. Okay then. "There's fifteen floors." And the roof, but is the blind girl really going to climb fifteen flights of stairs to wander around on the roof?
No, the blind girl is not going to climb fifteen flights of stairs to wander around on the roof. After the "adventure" of climbing down one flight of stairs from the second floor to the first, it might be a while before she tackles those stairs again.
"Fifteen? Wow. Well, I probably won't need to go up that high. First and second floors ought to do it."
If Krauser were any more capable of sympathizing with people on an individual basis, he'd have been glad to hear it. As it is, he just discards his "stand far away from the walls in case of falling people" plan.
"Probably. Food's kept in 202, if you haven't been there yet. I'm on the third floor, so I'm not sure, but I think there are still some empty rooms at the end of the hallway on the first floor."
"Ed took me up there, when I first arrived." Krauser obviously hadn't been there when the alchemist had shown up, carrying Toph piggy-back style on his back.
She smiles when he mentions open rooms at the end of the hallway. "Good; I want to stick as close to the ground as I can." Although... "Which end? Behind me, or in front of me?"
Hey, if she's going to stake out a room it'd be nice to know which direction to head in.

He doesn't think like that.

"Okay, who's there?" she asks.

She isn't walking quite like a girl who can't detect anything around her, and it is rather dim in the hallway.
"You come here by way of the Farm?"
Reply
Can't detect as well as she's used to, but she's managing thank you. And lighting doesn't really make a difference.
"Nope; from a campsite. What's the farm?"

Third floor if necessary.

"In front. I was back there after I dropped by the infirmary." There's a faint sliding as he leans against the doorframe, still out of the way.
