Of course there's a lot more to say about Senonia... but I didn't have that much space... ^_-

Though I called her Senonia it's a name I made up in Roman style to represents the tribes of the Gaul Senones that lived in Italy and not the territory over which they lived (later called Ager Gallicus by the Roman) or a their political government (tribal). The true Senones name is unknown, Senones is the Latin name however according to some it's just an adaptation of the original Senones name so it's not too far of as a name.

Not much is known about the language the Senones spoke so I might be incorrect in my info.

The Senones didn't have a flag. According to some however a symbol that had special value for them is the 'flower of life' in the variation called 'sole delle Alpi' (Sun of the Alps) so I used it as 'flag'. Mind you, this symbol is also used by tons of other populations in all the world so it's not exclusive property of the Senones (or of the other Celtic tribes in Italy who also used it).

If you're wondering why Senonia is a girl when it would have been more fitting if she were to be a boy that's because according to the sculptures and paints Senones looked like… well, like Asterix, each of them with a huge pair of moustaches and a similar helmet. So even though she was suppored to be a boy in the beginning when I drew her with moustaches… well, I decided that they looked ugly on him so… I turned Senonia in a girl. Sorry about this but I couldn't really stomach Senonia with moustaches.

If you ask me Senonia's human name is Brenna, the female version of Brennus, the name of the chieftain who saked Rome.... name that also took the meaning of chieftain.
