I keep abondoning LJ and then returning, but I've now added it to my productivity app, so it's for realz now (Habitica. Join it. I don't do the RPG aspect, but I love the interface and the fact that I gain/lose gold and silver based on whether I achieve the things I put on my list... and dressing up my character and giving her pets. <3

To be fair, a lot of these women have dementia, so I can forgive a lot of it. But there are perfectly mentally sound women who feel quite free to give me a lecture on how much better life would be if I were thinner.



My Lord, if I'd just KNOWN. They have truly opened my eyes.

Ten years ago, I could have told you sincerely that I didn't understand the older people in my family not talking to each other, but I get it now. The older you get, it's hard to put up with rehashing the same unhealthy dynamic with certain people with no end or change in sight. Sometimes, you just have to take yourself out of the equation for your own peace of mind.

And *hugs back.* I may not be on LJ as much these days, but I love having it here and you guys as a safe space. My other social media is all about fun or self promotion, which means no drama to me. It's nice to have somewhere to go and safe people when you want to stop putting on that perfectly happy front. So thanks for being here. :)
