Back in business... kind of
I am still on the borrowed laptop and can use it for the next few weeks, at least. But my computer has left this mortal coil. I've just been insanely busy, getting my ducks in a row. I managed to get most of the things I need for work. I had to make new CD labels, new business cards, new brochures. I had to call up with my tail between my legs about my next three gigs and get the dates as it was all in my Microsoft Works Calendar. But I've got everything on Google Calendar now, so I can access it online.
I still don't have everything I need, but I'm working on it. My Itunes library is the most annoying part. I had my library set up very specifically by genre and type and playlists done for current and future gigs, but not synched. Now I have to do the whole thing again and it's daunting (luckily, my backing tracks were all backed up). I don't want to do it on this borrowed computer just to do the whole thing again on some new computer. But if I don't get a new one by next week, I'll have no choice as I have two gigs then.
Anyway, I feel mostly normal, just annoyed that a significant amount of my time has been wasted and more still to waste as I don't feel like paying some large amount of money to get every little thing left.
As for fic, I last backed it up around the new year. I had a chapter nearly done on Action Time and significant outlining on the others. So that's tough to lose, but I'll live. I started rewriting my new chapter on Action Time tonight. It's never the same on a rewrite and I still feel like I'm forgetting important things. But I hope it still turns out okay. As it's a fic using canon, sometimes just watching the ep brings back certain things.
At any rate, I'm limping along okay now.
