Wasted and Ready

Mucho thanks to the two of you who I had dinner with on Friday night and stepped in to pick me up when my "date" for the evening flaked (predictably) at the last second. A small threesome (not that, sickos!) and relaxed conversation was just what I needed and something I'll take every rare chance I get it.

To those who went on dates or to dances, be they new dates or with someone you love, I'm glad they were all excellent and successful. With that said however, I really should have stayed away from all online social networking sites and the internet in general, because as happy as I am for all of you (truly) I could've made things better on myself by distancing myself from the computer. Actually, I probably would've been fine this year if I didn't have a pseudo date on St. Valentine's Day eve.

I spent the weekend distracting myself from the fact that it was Valentine's Day and the fact that I'd never dated anyone on that day (we won't count 2006 where it was essentially over) by seeking out deals at Circuit City (which should be an entry by itself) and watching a lot of basketball on all three nights of the weekend. It's always been a tradition of mine to watch the various all-star events of the weekend since I was nine. That, and a little bit of cleaning was a great way to take my mind off of my previous plans.

Of those plans and of that girl, I've appreciated the pep talks I've received from everyone weighing in with their opinions about her and the situation. Whether it be a simple, "kick her to da curb" or, "you're a desireable dude" they were things that were nice to hear at a time when I needed to.

It's not something that I really want to dwell on, but I think I'll need to think about it and talk about it for at least part of this week and then put it behind me.

In completely different news, I came up with a few chord transitions that I really liked and improvised a few more. It's nice to dust off my MiniDisc recorder and record something somewhat properly for a change. I need to purchase a proper microphone and then work on sticking with something if I'm to accomplish my goal of completing at least one song this year.
