On Around The Horn, one of the sports shows I watch on a daily basis, I was surprised to see a special guest appearance by rapper Lil' Wayne in the position where the panelist from Los Angeles usually appears. It kind of took me out of the show because I was completely off guard and thought that when they mentioned he'd be on today that it was either a joke or that he'd only be on for a couple of minutes like Snoop Dogg was a few months ago.

But he was on for the whole show.

Really, you could see it coming once he was on for the first full segment. On the show, points are given for good answers by the sports writers, and despite him having the lowest score at the end of each round, he was always given more points in order to advance, at the cost of the other panelists. They advertised it, and they were going to have him on for the full show and give him the win.

It's not like the show is to be taken at all seriously. It's fun and relaxed and you can tell at times a little bit rigged. Still, it's a bit of a jump the shark moment and it made my eyes roll to see it, despite my being impressed by a lot of what he said.

Speaking of being impressed, I've never been a big Coldplay fan, but I really came away from their 60 Minutes interview finding them all to be charming and genuinely nice guys. It's not going to make me pick up their next album, but it does make me content that the world's biggest band (when U2 isn't working) really seem to be pretty cool.
