i live in burbank with a 94 year old jewish lady named Evelyn.
so far, i've watched about 20+ hours of cable television, learned 9 new knitting techniques, and have slept a total of six hours over a the course of one week.
(lack of sleep mostly due to personal insecurities over my side of the house being haunted.)
no internet unfortunately, but ASSLOADS of A&E Biography, Mythbusters, and Turner Movie Classics.
things i have learned from t.v. so far:
- In Georgia, child molestation is NOT considered a violent crime. Take for example, the Sterling case in which a seventeen year old boy stabs a convicted child molester to death, but is sentenced to life in prision. Why did the kid have a steak dinner immediately after knifing the child predator- i don't know. Lesson learned though is: if you do happen to kill a Chi-Mo in self-defense, eat in the privacy of your own home, not in a diner, covered in blood.
- Whitney Houston is quoted in the 1997 movie Waiting to Exhale, saying, "What am I supposed to tell him, that i'm a crackhead or something?!"
(isn't it crazy?! it's like a
foreshadowing & irony burrito!)
- There's a Levitz commerical that uses a tweaked chorus version of the Katamari Damacy theme song as it's background music.
also, keep an eyepatch out for August's
Felt Club at Meltdown Comics. The girls and I are making it the way you take it: hot & sweaty.
