The cold and the wind conspired to dry out my primroses so they really needed water today. I ended up standing all the pots in water for a little while. Of course that took quite some time, so I did some clean-up work while I waited for each batch to be thoroughly wet. I did some in the Pink border but most of my attentions were focused on Louise's border today. I cut down the variegated bushes because they looked very sad. Evergreen plants don't do well in cold, dry winters. But they'll sprout new, fresh leaves when it finally gets a bit warmer. This spring has been terribly cold.
I hadn't planned on staying outside for so long and I'm a bit concerned that I might have bought myself a UTI by clearing out leaf debris with my bum in the wind. Hopefully all the fluids I've been drinking and the garlic will have averted that.
To ensure that the primroses don't try out as quickly next week, I've planted the white ones and the red ones in large pots. Previously I kept them in the small pots that they came in and just stood them on top of the soil in the larger pots.
It looked very neat by the time I was done. Now if we could just have some spring weather...
