"Mom," her daughter cried joyously, waving her left hand at her, "I've got good news! Great news even! Fantastic news!" Instead of racing to her mother, however, she raced around the car and threw her arms around her boyfriend. She kissed him passionately there in the front yard before turning back to a puzzled Piper, "Derek proposed!"
Piper blinked. She forced her lips to spread into a pleased smile, but her smile faltered. Instead she looked worriedly to her husband, her eyebrows arching in silent questioning. Leo grinned and nodded, meaning that not only had the investigation been completed but they were good. Their daughter was safe.
"Welcome to the family!" Piper cried and hurried to also hug Derek. He might only sling steaks for a living, but as long as he wasn't a Warlock or any other denizen from the underworld, and he made her daughter happy which he clearly did, Piper was thrilled to have him! Leo was right behind his wife and immediately offered his hand to his future son-in-law. Any occasion where a Halliwell was planning to get married to someone other than a Demon was far worthy of a celebration! This fiancé was going nowhere!
