I finally watched the movie. I just got back from it. Thank god there were NO squealing fangirls. That's one great thing about watching the movie now compared to opening weekend, though I thought there would be more people watching it. I think there was like maybe 30 at most tonight that watched it. Oh well.
Anyways, I went into watching this movie with the motive to "lol" my way through it (I saw some of the reactions to it and the rotten tomato rating) and there were plenty of moments that I laughed... for the overall cheesiness of it and there were some parts that were just disappointing. However there were some good parts - Charlie in particular and his interaction with Billy in the beginning of the movie though at that point, they are not supposed to be speaking with each other. Oh well. It was the highlight of the movie. Mike Newton and Eric were effing great. I love them. James was great also.
The most disappointing point of the movie was the beach scene where Jake tells Bella about the Quileute legend. It was totally butchered and also Sam, I thought he would have been more serious than that. Another thing that disappointed was the sparkliness of Edward. I thought he would have sparkled more like a diamond. The movie sparkliness was just maybe one fraction of it. I thought the meadow scene was butchered too. Also, the unfairness of the movie was the ending. The wolves had descended. WTF! and Jake didn't get his dance with Bella. Boo. I was looking forward to that. Another thing I must grappled about is the overplayage of Bella's Lullaby. It was like in particularly every scene. I got so sick of it and of course I thought the Lullaby was disappointing at least the orchestra version of it. The piano only version is great, but now I am so sick of hearing it that I might even kinda hate it. *sigh*
Overall, the movie was too fast-paced and kind of choppy. It didn't have a smooth transition between the scenes. Though if you are a Twilight fan, then definitely watch, even if you watch it for the lol-age of it.
My rating of it... maybe a C+.
These are all the things that I can remember about it. If I remember anything else, I'll add it later.
