Yes, I'm alive. Yes, it's been like 2 years. I stopped posting cause after the surgery, posting started to seem like a chore rather than something fun. Now I feel I should try to pick it back up.
A lot has happened. I left Utah and spent a year in Korea. I had a lot of fun and formative experiences there. I feel a bit more mature.
At the turn of the year 2009, I arrived back in Misawa, Japan, doing the same job as I did before.
Now I must serve my time at the second level of leadership school so I can get promoted. I am currently on the lovely little island of Okinawa, and will be for 6 weeks. I have completed one week already.
Robert is still in Misawa with the war neko and the kitten, whose name ended up changing to Shinobi. His 'silent but deadly' gas attacks, and sneaky dive bomb attacks earned him the new name. He is nearly 3 years old now. He's still tall, skinny and determined to annoy the war neko to death. His mission is to always have Robert's company, and woe should Robert decide to go to sleep.
I've recovered fully from the surgery I last posted about. My quality of life has improved massively. I fit normal clothing. I'm no longer extremely self conscious. While the recovery was tough, it was overall a very positive thing.
There is so much homework associated with school, but I get my own room, internet, tv and fridge. I have to share the bathrooms with all the other females in my dorm wing, but the showers are separated, even if they are all in the communal bathroom. We all get to claim one shower for our exclusive use.
I have one primary instructor, but for the last few days, we've had a different instructor. And the poor woman, my group pulls pranks. Every time there is a break and she leaves the room, we change something about it. Her desk will be upside down or we've rearranged the room layout. So far she has a good sense of humor about it.
I need to finish the homework for tomorrow, so I'll leave this post as is. I can't even think of everything that should be said, so I'll just let it appear as it comes.
