Dear Yuletide Author
First of all, thank you so much for writing for me! I hope these suggestions are helpful. Given the fandoms I chose this year, I'm pretty sure there's minimal chance for sex, but I figured I'd list prefences for sex-related situations anyway, just in case.
In general I like: friendship, friends-to-lovers, hands, any rating as appropriate to material, humor, missing scenes, backstories, letter-fic, romance-without-being-cloyingly-sweet, being turned on without being able to do anything about it, hot urgent sex, and (conversely), lots of foreplay, first- or third-person POV, past or present tense, happy or - at least - hopeful endings.
In general I dislike: character bashing, smoking, drugs, being completely pissed drunk (mild-moderate drunkenness is ok), non-con/rape, really rough sex, serious bondage, watersports, pain, humiliation, infidelity, anybody calling anyone else "baby," AUs that are so AU you can't even see the relation to the original canon, excessively flowery descriptions, ie "chocolate-hazelnut eyes" or kisses tasting like a menu board "he tasted like coffee, spaghetti, meyer lemons and sunshine" especially if none of those things have been recently consumed.
Although not really part of any of the fandoms I chose, I just thought I'd clarify that I am totally okay with slash/femslash as a general concept, so if that ends up being part of any background characters' stories, that's perfectly fine.
Dorrie the Little Witch Series Big Witch, Cook, Dorrie, Gink (aka "any")
I was SO excited to see this listed, you have no idea. I'm a grown-ass woman, and I still own copies of all (I think all?) the original Dorrie books. Also, although I'm mostly a dog person, I've always wanted a black cat named Gink. *g* SO, ANYWAY. Seriously, I would be happy with ANYTHING. My only real requests are: I want Dorrie to remain young (ie, no future fic aging her up past mid-teen years; keeping her a child is totally fine, too), and no Big Witch/Dorrie incest. You could do another Dorrie adventure story, you could give the backstory of what happened to Dorrie's father, or how she found Gink, go with your inspiration! If you want to throw in Mr Obs and/or Squigg, too, feel free. Preferred rating: PG and under.
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle: I'd love to see a modern Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle story in which she helps cure a child of some modern "ailment" - addiction to video games or cell phones, cyber-bullying, junk food, something like that - if you can think of something else, that's good, too. Preferred rating: PG and under.
Ant-Man: (Hank, Hope, Scott, Luis) So, if you've seen Civil War, you know that Scott says he's done Giant Man "once, and I passed out afterwards". I would love to see the story behind that. Another option would be to see how Scott and Luis met and became friends. I've listed the above four characters, but you do NOT have to include all four if it doesn't work out. Preferred rating: Any.
Mulan: (Fa Mulan, Fa Zhou, Li Shang, Emperor, Khan, Mushu) aka "any" - You do NOT have to include all the characters in the story. We're going to ignore Mulan II, 'k? So, possible things to write: where did Mulan and Shang's relationship go from the end of the original movie? Do they stay together or just become friends and end up with others? What did Mulan do with her life after fighting in the Emperor's army? I can't see her just calmly going home and playing the perfect girl/wife, you know? Another option would be to show events from Mulan from Khan's or Mushu's perspective, or to tell the story of how Mushu got banned when he "lead Fa Ding to disaster!" Preferred rating: Any
Real Genius: (Chris Knight, Jordan Cochran, Mitch Taylor) What was daily life like with Chris and Mitch, off-camera scenes that weren't mentioned in the movie? What did either one of them really think of the other? Once Chris counsels Mitch not to quit and they start working on pranks together, were there other pranks we didn't get to see? Or ... since Chris graduates at the end of the film, what's Mitch's life like the following year? Does Chris drop by sometimes to keep Mitch's life lively? Alternately, would love to see where the relationship between Mitch and Jordan went. Given that he's only 15 in canon, it might be necessary to fast-forward a year or two, so things aren't too ewwy, depending on how far you want things to, uh, progress. *g* (Trivia point: some of the scenes in this movie were filmed at my alma mater, which makes me exceptionally fond of the whole thing. :D )
