It's been a while. Ages! Perhaps future Anthropologists will refer to this period of my life as an era. I think that an appropriate name for such an era would be the Album era. Yes, six months and a few odd weeks after we started, The Acorn finished our long, long overdue second full length. Well, I'm getting every so slightly ahead of myself - there are still some tweaks to come in on the mastering stage and the artwork is still a bit of a work in progress - but for all intents and purposes it's done. It feels amazing. I think we made a really interesting and beautiful record and that we have added our own melody to the whatever-the-hell-you-call-it that is music these days. Who knows if anyone will hear it, mind you, but the point is that we had fun making it, thinking about it, dissecting it, playing it, mixing it, mastering it, and living it. It won't be out for nearly three months but at that time you'll be able to find it in both CD and Vinyl format. That'll be fun.

Other than that, I dunno. Money is tight, but hopefully starting a new part-time gig working with Amnesty International will supplement my web development gig enough for me to make it to October and Cross-Canada Tour #3. I booked a camp site for the second last week of August north of Kingston in Frontenac Park. No car-camping, so we'll have to (by which I mean, are looking forward to) hiking a couple of hours to reach the camp site, at which point swimming and lazing will ensue. You know that the hammock is coming along on that one.

Now, if only all summers could be this moderate I might just change my mind about this crazy season.
