What didn’t I do today! Starting at the crack of dawn, more like 8 a.m. , dad came in and woke me up saying that he needed my help. Seeing how you can’t really say no to my dad, I just kind of did what he told me. We start by taking out the air conditioners since Fall is starting and the nights are getting cooler and cooler (after taking them out we also clean down the windows and vacuum the area and what not).
It took us maybe an hour or 2 - because before we could put them away for the season we also have to re-organize the dining room closet, which is where we store all our Halloween, Christmas, Easter, décor as well as things we haven’t used in years like the camping tent, life jackets, etc.
However, dad did surprise me during the closet clean up - he threw away his high school graduation cap and gown as well as his old HS football padding and practice close (something he’s been fighting with my mom over for years!)
After we did all that - we sat the air conditioners out to dry while dad mowed the lawn. But not before he made me go stomp the mole holes in the yard.
Mowing the lawn, however, means I had about 3 hours to myself before I was dad’s little helper all over again with the chevelles. We didn’t get done with those till a little after 4 p.m.
And needless to say once I finally had time to myself I was pretty beat so I just tried to relax a little.
