DON'T READ THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED FOR BARROWMAN'S CONCERT . . . . I wouldn't hold much hope for no Jack/Gwen (bleurgh) in the new series; at John's concert to celebrate the returning of Torchwood by dedicating a song to Jack's feelings for Gwen... I felt physically ill, no joke, my stomach actually turned and I didn't eat anything for the rest of the night despite only eating a baguette all day. As much as I love John, he ruined one of my favourite songs of all time from one of my favourite films forever :/. It was 'Rule the World' by Take That, ever since I keep getting mental images of Jack and Gwen shagging aghhh I need brain bleach. I just imagine Jack and Ianto shagging though to block it out lol. I didn't want to ruin the concert for everyone so I stuck my fingers in my ears and stared at David Tennant, occasionally watching Burn Gorman and Georgia Moffett. Yes they were at his London venue and weren't sitting that far away from me aghhhhh :D I loved that he sang 'Unusual Way' from his album though cause I think of that as Jack and Ianto's song (there's a fanvid and you should watch it if you haven't it's awesome :D) and I pretended John dedicated that to Jack's feelings for Ianto (this was before the dreaded song above :( ) Sorry for the ramble lol, you're the first person I've told on LJ. I don't mind; I live so far away that JB will never do a show here regardless. But ugh, that's terrible. I really hope that with Kai being signed to the new series that'll nix the Jack/Gwen, but they'll probably still find ways to slot it in there x(
I'd totally watch David, Burn and Georgia, too (even though I've never actually seen 'The Doctor's Daughter...')
But that's kind of disappointing, really, (although the super-fangirl in me hopes they're just playing up the Jack/Gwen a lot so if Ianto DOES come back they can have a good laugh at how riled up the fans got about the whole thing. It'll never happen, but in my head it's possible xP).
