Sashimi!

June 30, 2009. I got myself an MSI Wind U100 Plus netbook! Reasons why I had to get one: 1 - Though I love Tangerine, my trusty HP Compaq 6910p, it's getting old. I got it in 2007, and now the keyboard goes haywire at random times. I'm getting it fixed, but it's good to always have a backup. 2 - I was getting tired lugging 14-inch Tangerine with me to work. I needed a big backpack for it, and I just might develop scoliosis soon because it's too heavy to bring on the commute with me. 3 - It was annoying bringing Tangerine up and down the apartment too. I work downstairs during the day because it gets hot in my room upstairs, and carrying the notebook around this place with me was becoming a drag.

The MSI Wind U100 Plus offered the best specs for its price range - Intel Atom N280 processor, 250GB hard drive and 2GB RAM - that's why I went for it. It's so handy! It's a 10-incher so it fits in most of my purses and I can tote it around without a problem. It's a perfect secondary notebook. Anyway, one of the things I miss the most about my old job as a PC World editor was unboxing gadgets, so I made sure I did a proper unboxing for this one. Here go the pics.
