The Doggie Bag of Life's Lessons

Oct 23, 2006 22:57

Today brought home a few good points to me.

1. No matter how well you know yourself right now, you will change. You will. Accept, adapt, thrive.

2. The Absolute is pretty much the only thing absolute. So try to refrain from speaking in such terms. Unless for universal truths for your own life. These are my lessons, and how I see everything. For me, these are truths. But not for everyone.

3. No matter whether it's in your own eyes, in the heart of another, or in terms of your life as a whole, your position is not unassailable. Be ready, be flexible, and don't take anything for granted.

4. Holding the heart of another in your hands is terrifying. Having your heart held by another is far worse. Try to sympathize, when you can. Tread carefully on the heartstrings of those around you. You never really can know who feels what for you.

5. Those who hurt you most are usually those most willing to take a dive for you. Recognize their motives for what they really are.

6. Perfection is in the moment. In your opinion of someone in terms of how you feel right now. In your perception of the situation as seen through the painted window of your life. Know that when the moment passes, a new moment arrives. And perfection changes again.

There are more, but I am too distracted to write anything else out.

prayer, life
