Today, an act of God saved my daughter from dying.
While I was at work, she spent between 45 minutes to two hours, playing in the backyard, by the ungated pool.
She never fell in. She never came close. She pulled food from the freezer, she left the door open, played with empty pop cans and her sandbox. She put a bucket in the pool, and the garden hose. She pulled toys and leaves from the water.
She is healthy, and safe. She sleeps soundly tonight in her bed.
My mother's father and my father's mother got to know their great granddaughter today.
