Not that I was into HP much, but hey, rules are rules~
Persona 3 >>
I got into Persona 3 thanks to my friend Gaa from Gaia Online; to be perfectly honest, she sold me on it from Junpei Iori's personality alone. I bought it, and started into it and was pleasantly surprised and delighted to find that not only did it have awesome characters (with only a few exceptions, and even then that's personal preference), but a deep storyline, and a mythology surrounding Jungian psychology and theory (a favorite of mine) and Mythology from all over the world. It even helped me when I was in a bad rut of depression a while back.
I had actually heard of the Persona series before; Persona 2: Eternal Punishment from my buddy Turk. Hell, it was even at my blockbuster, but I was too young to rent it at the time, besides, at the age I was at, I thought it was 'creepy'. Yes, I do want to kick my younger self in the ass, but atleast now I'm making up for it by picking up every Persona/SMT game I can find.
I am Atlus's bitch now. OTL But atleast it gave me confidence not to give up on RPGs as a Genre... Final Fantasy waas slowly killing that for me >_>;
OT3s >>
There is nothing worse to me in fandom than shipping wars; they just get people so damn riled up and angry over something that's really quite silly. But then, sometimes I have the problem too-- there's a character I really like, and there's two different people I really like WITH them... but I can't choose which one to go with or pay attention to!
My solution to this? OT3s! Happy pairings where all three people get the love. From one another.
Phoenix/Maya vs Phoenix/Miles shippers causin' wank? No problem! Just go Maya/Phoenix/Miles and everyone is happy 8D Not to mention more sexy tiems variety. I did this only just recenlty with Persona 4-- I really like Souji/Rise, but I also like Souji/Yosuke... obvious answer is an OT3 of all them together 8D
I think I kinda developed this sentiment after watching/reading too much bashing of Mamoru Chiba from Sailor Moon in fics when it came to Seiya/Usagi fans. I figured, well damn, if you really want it that bad, why not just have them all three together? Hell, add in Fiore and the fact that Seiya can change genders, and he fun'll never stop!
...My god I'm a perv. OTL B-but it really comes from me just wanting everyone to be happy in my presumed pairings. I suppose it helps that I rarely ship bad guys though, so not too many powertrip/squick issues there.
Haunted Places >>
Ever since I was a kid, I was always fascinated by ghost stories. I was the one that would take the 'real ghost stories from so and so location" from the library and read the hell out of it. I'd watch all those shows too, and freak the hell out of myself in the process. It's just mixes a couple of things I love; history, the unknown, and learning about the people that once lived there. Whenever I go to a new town, I always try to find out where's the 'haunted' places there.
Phoenix Wright >>
Ahh, the Phoenix Wright games. I started playing the first one while I was training for my new job-- It was a call center, so alot of the training was computer program based. So once I finished a Module or two, I'd sneak a couple of moves into the DS I had borrowed from a friend there; I had been too poor before this point to get my own. I managed to get to the beginning of the 5th case of the first game by the time I gave it back to him; and it was one of my top priority games to get once I got my own DS.
It was thanks to Phoenix Wright that I met my closest friends online though a Phoenix Wright RP; and through them I also found the Persona and SMT series too. Not to mention it was all together a wonderful game; great characters, really interesting plot and alot of Humor. It helped me a lot when I was depressed too-- if Phoenix could keep going inspite of all those odds, I should too.
...
That also might explain though why AJ isn't really my favorite game; they kinda took the part that meant so much to me in the first three and kinda... stomped on it. .___.;
Shiney things >>
I like shiny objects, what can I say? I'm like a magpie. Stones, gems, silver, gold, shiny pennies; my friends used to joke I could get distracted by just tinfoil.
...
They're probably right. OTL
Sociology >>
Ah, Sociology, how do I love thee?
Basically, this is what I want to study and make a career in; I'm fascinated by online communication and community, and how people interact online, especially in relation to fandom. When trying to figure out why a person may be reacting the way they are, I try to look at their background as a basis, which is kinda a major part in understand sociology. I took a class in highschool, took intro to Sociology in University, and never looked back.
Hopefully one day I'll be a professor teaching students about it.
Magical Girl Manga >>
A guilt pleasure; I consider it like a twinkie for your soul. It all started with Sailor Moon, but now I've got near ly all of Wedding Peach, Tokyo Mew Mew and all of Pichi Pichi Pitch. They're lame and cliche and overly sappy, but my god, I love it.
I need to watch Princess Tutu and Pretty Cure (one of them, anyway) and finish up Pretear soon. I need a magical girl fix like whoa. DX;
Aaaand that's about it! My god I can be awfully wordy at 4 am in the morning /Atlantic time sob.
I promise to make a post soon talking about other things; I've been playing Persona 1 a lot lately, along with Persona 3 and SMT: Strange Journey. I've also been drawing more, I should do another artdump again soon.
Anyway, for now, Peace out~
