After an annoying day at work I took a walk along Park Ave and drank in the sights of the Seagrams Building by good ole Mies. It's interesting to think that he inadvertantly started a trend for architects creating public gathering spaces along with their skyscrapers. There are several buildings right around there that show the different ways that's been done since Mies first did it, the Sony plaza, the Lever House, and Citicorp/Citigroup Plaza, whatever it's called now. Hopefully someday I'll get the opportunity to visit the German National Pavilion in Barcelona. More
info about the Pavilion. Just taking some time out to relax that way certainly helped me clear my mind.
