Things have been kind of hectic the last few weeks. For instance, last week I worked at least 1 day in 4 different states, lots of travel, and not the fun kind. I went to Atlanta for the first time last Tuesday night/Wednesday. I got in late on Tuesday due to fun weather, but it was actually nice, I got to enjoy the ride through the city without any of the often maligned traffic. The city itself was very interesting, beautiful architecture, interesting layout, it really seemed like everything was "new". After having lived in Chicago for 13 years and having worked in midtown Manhattan for the last couple of months it was an interesting contrast.
Working in midtown so close to MoMA and Park Avenue has really enabled me to soak in some of that metropolitan flair I've been kind of missing out in suburbia for so long. I'd love nothing more than a nice condo on the upper East Side with oodles of moolah to continue the expansion of my art collection. Somehow, I just don't see that happening. I really need to figure out how to translate my love of moderne and bauhaus in to something workable in my suburban two story. I'm going to start in the family room I think. I've currently got all my Nierman's in the family room along with the Perez del Toro, they work great together, but I need to paint and redecorate a bit more. I've found, or in some cases rediscovered, some communities on LJ that I think can help give me some ideas. I foresee much furniture rearrangement in my near future.
