the last entry was all, "woe, woe." for good reason, but the woeful period is over!
i submitted my resignation to GrafTech today! it was such a wonderful feeling quitting...
i had been a bit nervous about how people would receive it but it turns out everyone was exceedingly happy for me & they all congratulated me. somewhere between people knowing i was miserable there/miserable commuting every weekend they were thrilled with how things worked out. that & many of my colleagues had a good chuckle about my sticking it to the man.
my last day at GrafTech is the 31st & i'm counting down the days like i've never counted for anything!
i've got a position with
Chemical Abstracts Service in Columbus lined up. the job is basically library work focusing on chemistry [SciFinder (Scholar) is the work of CAS for those acquainted]. i'm extremely excited; the benefits are great, the pay is good, the grounds are beautiful, & the location is fabulous (heehee)! i'll also be out of industry, won't need to worry about smearing graphite all over my face & clothes, can probably wear open-toed shoes, & won't ever need my super-nerd girl safety glasses! i start the 10th (provided i pass my drug screening).
i guess my weekend of resume editing & 3hrs on the cover letter paid off. uh, that was so fucking painful though. *shudder*
so i intend to be relocated to columbus by no later than mid-September. i can't wait!
SOOOO FUCKING THRILLED ABOUT MY LIFE!!! *departs to go happy dance around the house*
