A recommendation and a question.

Firstly, for those interested in Age of SAIL and have a little cash to spare (or feel like treating yourself over Christmas), I heartily recommend this book; Fighting Ships 1750-1850 by Sam Willis. I have read - and got! - both of them. I think they are very good, very well researched and written by people who know their stuff. If you have the chance to get them, go for it. Also, if you haven't got Redcoat: The British Soldier in the Age of Horse and Musket by Richard Holmes, add that to your list of books to get...

I got them today when I gave my card a hammering today. I thought they seemed like the sort of books that know what they're talking about, but as it is a subject area I'm unfamiliar with I wanted to make sure.

And thanks; I'll keep a lookout for that one.

The Big Book o' Boat Pics Fighting Ships was 50% off in Borders, and I drooled over it, but there was no way I could carry it back to Norwich on the train with me!

I wouldn't mind taking home on the train, but I suppose you have ticket barriers to get through, whereas I haven't.
