Archimedes ‘chat buddy’, a wild Rainbow Lorikeet, stopped by again.  I will resist the urge to tame it, as I can get pretty close to it. It might have been someone else’s pet, but it’s doing ok on it’s own. 

Alan says he is surprised at how much he misses Archimedes. Just got through putting groceries away, and we used to have Archimedes as a cheering section. Squawking and bouncing on his perch as we worked. It's just so quiet ( Read more... )

Brought the birds outside. They are abso-fragging-lutely bouncy from the fresh air and sunshine. Bertie, the cockatiel, is back to performing his full repertoire of whistles and singing. I wonder if the neighbors yapping beanie baby of a dog is getting wound up from Bertie doing the "c'mere doggie" whistle, or maybe the Mozart stanza ( Read more... )

One of our lorikeets, Eileen, has died. We spotted her in the bottom of the cage on Saturday, very weak, and thought that maybe Archimedes was hogging food. So, we brought her in, kept her warm, spoon fed her and it seemed she was going to be ok. She perked up and seemed ok. Found her dead this morning.
