I took advantage of the first clear night I have had in close to 2 weeks, and did some viewing, and when the moon cleared the gumtree, I dragged out the computer and camera.
I used a violet filter, lowered the exposure and really upped the contrast, as I wanted the stark whitness of the 'top' to be really eye grabbing, and the dark contrast of the craters to be breathtaking. This is the result:
I wanted a close up still shot, with as much detail as I could get. And I wasn't disappointed.
